Why Choose Us for Heald Green Wasp Control?

Heald Green produces more eaves nests per street than anywhere else we cover in SK8, and the reason is written into the housing. The suburb grew in the 1930s along Finney Lane and Outwood Road, and the semis of that decade were given generous, deep eaves with boxed timber soffits, often still original under later cladding. Ninety years of expansion and contraction have opened joints along thousands of metres of roofline, and every open joint is a candidate front door for a queen in spring. From June onwards we are up ladders here more days than not.

Costs are fixed and short enough to put in a table:

WhatPrice
Wasp nest, anywhere in Heald Green£60
Hornet nest, same treatment£60
Bumblebee nest, where removal is justified£70
Coming out, quoting, or lookingFree
Second treatment if the first failsFree

You pay after the nest is dealt with, and weekend or evening visits carry no premium.

The 1930s eaves problem, specifically

On these houses the tell-tale is a thin, steady stream of wasps rising to the gutter line and vanishing under the roof edge, usually on the sunniest elevation. Behind the fascia there is a continuous hollow running the length of the house, so a colony that enters over the kitchen can end up sounding loudest over a bedroom at the far end. People sometimes spend a weekend sealing the hole they can see, which traps returning workers inside the roof and pushes them through ceiling fittings into the house. Please leave the hole open and call instead; the open entrance is exactly what makes the treatment quick.

Elsewhere on the plot, the detached garages and long rear gardens typical of Outwood Road hold the usual shed and hedge nests, and the streets towards Bolshaw and the green belt pick up ground nests along field boundaries.

Living under the approach

The airport sits directly across the A555 from Heald Green, close enough that the suburb rises and falls with the flight schedule. For wasps the relevant part is the perimeter land: hundreds of acres of mown and rough grassland that suit ground-nesting colonies, with nothing much to disturb them. Late every summer a share of those foragers works the gardens on the western side of the suburb, which is why residents can see heavy wasp traffic without owning a nest at all. Part of every visit is confirming which situation you have, and if there is no treatable nest on your property you pay nothing.

Heald Green Wasp Removal: Frequently Asked Questions

Usually the day you ring. The run from our Stockport base takes about a quarter of an hour via Cheadle, and morning callers are normally seen before evening. In August we suggest phoning before midday, since eaves jobs on the 1930s semis stack up quickly here.

No. The entrance is what matters, not the nest itself. We watch the flight line, identify the gap they are using, and put the treatment through it. The workers then carry it into the colony wherever it sits inside the eaves or loft.

Not at all, and we treat plenty of nests on the streets closest to the runway approach. The only airport effect worth knowing about is ecological. The rough grassland around the perimeter carries a strong wild wasp population, which is part of why Heald Green gardens see so much late-summer traffic.

Send a photo or describe them when you ring. Furry, round and slow means bumblebees, which are £70 in the rare case treatment is the right answer and otherwise best left to die back naturally in autumn. Honeybees we do not touch, and we will point you towards a beekeeper who may collect a swarm.
